Making a positive impact, one tree at a time! Our volunteering employees and customers in NORTHGATE ESPAÑA were able to plant 1000 trees, contributing to the reforestation of two degraded areas in Málaga and A Coruña. But it doesn't stop there! By planting these trees, they have also offset an incredible 226,94 tons of CO2 emissions! We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who volunteered. Your efforts are helping us achieve our goal of reforesting degraded areas and creating a greener future for generations to come. We are thrilled to announce the official opening of the South Holland Tree Collective, an unincorporated association rooted in our shared love for the environment. As green enthusiasts, our mission is to make South Holland greener, one tree at a time. As a newly established organization, we're setting out on a crucial mission to plant and nurture more trees within our community. To this end, we are earnestly seeking access to affordable saplings and available open spaces within the local area. Do you have a backyard with ample space, a vacant lot, or a community park in need of some green friends? We would love to populate these areas with lush, life-giving trees. Trees are not only beautiful to look at, they are an essential part of our ecosystem, contributing to biodiversity, improving air quality, and helping combat climate change. Joining our cause means playing an active role in a more sustainable and resilient South Holland. We welcome all interested individuals to be part of this wonderful journey. Whether you can help by donating saplings, offering land, volunteering your time, or simply spreading the word, your contribution will have a lasting impact on our community. If you're interested in joining or assisting our cause, we invite you to reach out to us at southhollandtreecollective@outlook.com. Let's come together to grow a greener future! Together, we can make South Holland a little more leafy and a lot more lovely! #community #environment #climatechange

Since teaming up with the amazing Growing Trees Network in late 2022, we've planted a total of 7,749 trees! Out of these, 5,191 are balsa trees, planted in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Helping to safeguard precious virgin rainforest and support the indigenous Wawazonia tribe. In Denmark, we've donated 2,558 indigenous trees to public forests, promoting biodiversity. Elsteel donated 7,500 trees, with the remaining 249 trees as part of our innovative "one container - one tree" initiative; for every container that leaves our factory, we plant a tree. We're excited to continue our mission towards carbon neutrality by planting more trees this year. Stay tuned for updates and more green news! #plantingtrees #ecuador #amazon #rainforest #elsteel #amazonrainforest #denmark #forest #bepartofthesolution #powertheplanet #carbonzero

🌿 One Year Ago Today: Reflecting on the Olugbede Market CleanUp Exercise 🌿 Hello #LinkedInCommunity, As I look back on this day exactly one year ago, I'm filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had the privilege of volunteering at the CleanUp initiative at Olugbede Market, Egbeda. 🧹🗑 ### 🎯 Why Olugbede Market? Olugbede Market is a bustling hub that serves as the backbone of the local community. However, like many busy markets, it faces challenges with waste management. The CleanUp initiative aimed to tackle this issue head-on. 🌱 ### ⏳ A Year Ago Today Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a strong sense of purpose, we set out to clean the market. The experience was eye-opening. We collected several bags of waste, but more importantly, we started conversations about sustainability and responsible waste disposal. 🌍 ### 🤝 Community Engagement What made this initiative truly special was the community involvement. Market vendors and local residents joined us in our efforts, turning the CleanUp into a community event. The day served as a reminder that when we come together, we can achieve great things. 💪 ### 🙏 Gratitude and Reflection I want to take a moment to thank everyone who was a part of this initiative. Your dedication has not only cleaned a market but also planted the seeds for a cleaner future. 🌳 ### 📣 The Journey Continues While we've made progress, there's still much work to be done. Let's continue to advocate for cleaner public spaces and responsible waste management. Whether you can volunteer your time or resources, every bit helps. 🔄 Looking back, I'm grateful for the experience and excited for what the future holds. Let's keep the momentum going! #CleanUpInitiative #OlugbedeMarket #Sustainability #CommunityService #Throwback #Volunteering

For us, the sea is a source of joy and adventure. We hope that it remains so, for us and future generations. We wanted to highlight a few organisations here in the Nordics that do important social and environmental work. Keep the Archipelago Tidy - Pidä Saaristo Siistinä ry - Håll Skärgården Ren rf - Founded in Finland in 1969, this organisation does grass roots work when it comes to tackling pollution, eutrophication and chemicalization in the Baltic sea as well as in the lake regions. We have chosen to collaborate with them both in 2022 and 2023 and have successfully engaged our members in marine conservation. Baltic Sea Action Group - A Finnish non-profit organisation with the goal of restoring biodiversity and ecological balance in the Baltic sea. Their work is relevant to anyone residing in the region, be it in Stockholm, Turku or Tallinn. Fjord CleanUP - A Norwegian non-profit initiative founded in Oslo. They come together every week for a clean-up event where people collect trash by diving, swimming, kayaking or from the shore and docks. We encourage our members to take part in their events as it is a great way to actively take part in environmental work, even if it might seem like a small thing to do. Every piece of trash collected from the sea helps. She Captain - SheCaptain is a sailing and boating-focused non-profit that encourages women to hop behind the helm by offering education and practical training such as sailing excursion etc. Havmiljøvogterne - Another grass-roots level initiative that encourages action towards cleaner waters and beaches in the form of cleanups. Mødrehjælpen - In Denmark we’ve also partnered up with a social-humanitarian organization called Mødrehjælpen who offer support and counseling to pregnant women as well as families in vulnerable positions. We have been taking the mothers boating with their children. These organizations accept donations which are the most direct way to support and enable their work. If it is possible to get involved, consider doing so. Read, educate yourself and engage in marine conservation. Get out there and experience the sea for yourself. It’s easier to care about something when you are familiar with it.
