Apprenticeships are a great way to #learn and #earn. As someone who is still paying off my #studentloan, any option that results in a reduction or removal for the need of a loan is such a positive reason to consider this route. Lots of companies offer many different areas of expertise so do consider an #apprenticeship as a way to kick start your career. #NAW2024

🌟 Meet our Network Rail Anglia apprentices! 🌟 Meet Taylor and Freddie, based in London Liverpool Street, two driven individuals who embarked on apprenticeship journeys to carve out fulfilling careers tailored to their skills and passions. Taylor, armed with an engineering qualification, sought to align his expertise with a rewarding career path. Freddie, on the other hand, aimed to secure a long-term career brimming with opportunities for continuous learning and growth. Their advice for new apprentices? Freddie encourages proactive self-accountability and a willingness to ask questions, while Taylor emphasises the direct correlation between effort and reward in the apprenticeship journey. Looking ahead, Taylor envisions himself as an accredited engineer, supporting and nurturing new talent entering the workforce. Meanwhile, Freddie eagerly anticipates ongoing growth and development in his chosen field. Networking and hands-on learning experiences stand out as the highlights of their apprenticeships, although they've also faced challenges like shift work and adverse weather conditions along the way. As Taylor and Freddie continue navigating their apprenticeship journeys, their experiences serve as valuable lessons for aspiring professionals. Proud Dad Moment: My Sons Found Success Through Sunbelt Rentals Apprenticeships! As a parent, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing your children thrive. Today, I want to share a little story about both my sons, Jamie and Ethan, and their incredible journeys through Sunbelt Rentals apprenticeships. I've always been a firm believer in alternative pathways to success, and apprenticeships seemed like a perfect fit for both boys. They were hands on learners  who craved practical experience rather than traditional academic routes, although I did wrongly try to push one towards an academic experience. Jamie Spencer's Story: He landed an apprenticeship in Electrical/mechanical; and quickly impressed everyone with his work ethic and aptitude. His mentor became a valuable guide, offering real-world knowledge and support that textbooks couldn't. Today, he's a currently in his 3rd year and a rising star in his field. Jamie manages to fit his work in while being extremely dedicated to his football team, he plays football at a high level and he has spent his youth in and out of Premier league academy's which has led to a real team ethic in everything he does. Ethan Spencer's Story: Ethan has been with us since September, choosing an apprenticeship in Electrical/mechanical. Like his brother, he is thriving in the practical and educational environment, gaining valuable skills and confidence. He manages to put 100 percent into his apprenticeship while training full time as an England international gymnast, last year he competed in Belgium and Portugal whilst fitting in all his work and educational demands. Their success stories are a testament to the power of apprenticeships: Hands-on learning: Apprentices gain practical skills and experience directly applicable to their chosen field. Mentorship: Experienced professionals provide guidance and support, boosting confidence and helping them navigate challenges. Reduced financial burden: Compared to traditional university paths, apprenticeships offer reduced costs  and the ability to earn while you learn. Faster career path: Apprentices can enter the workforce earlier with valuable skills and experience, giving them a competitive edge. I'm incredibly proud of my sons and the paths they've chosen. It is misleading and does harm the wealth of good provision and opportunities in this sector. We need more young people making informed decisions about their post 16 careers. Within Manufacturing there are great #apprenticeships options with good pay and progression. The Next Gen Makers Engineering Kitemark also highlights those employers really going above and beyond for their apprentices. An apprenticeship is a tri-part relationship and requires investment and dedication from all players to be a success. Yes this unfortunately doesn't always happen, but if you research well you could have a great career.
