FMG Repair Services supports students at the College of West Anglia. FMG Repair Services Mobile Repair team found themselves a practical solution to using surplus paint and materials due to a change in processes. Working with the College of West Anglia in Wisbech, they have donated the supplies to be used by local students interested in training within the automotive industry. This has helped us ecologically repurpose surplus materials and is also supporting the education and creativity of students in the area. #Community #Support #GivingBack #FMGRepairServices

What a joy to see some fantastic social value being created under our building materials framework Thirteen Group and Travis Perkins Managed Services! An outdoor classroom has been created for North Ormesby Primary Academy in Middlesbrough with raised wooden planters, fruit trees and an area for storytelling. Thirteen’s environmental specialist John Woods said: “The school came to us because they were keen to create a space to grow food and allow the children to observe the wildlife and connect with nature. The project is all about teaching children why we must do things that help the environment and how to grow nutritious fresh produce, which in turn reduces our carbon footprint." Nicola Todd, regional director at Travis Perkins added: “It is a pleasure to see the children so engaged and excited identifying different species, and creating the habitats in the plant beds." We'd like to say a big well done to all involved in this initiative. The Cirrus Consortium Materials Framework takes a flexible approach to social value to allow each member to meet their individual social aims and objectives. This means clients can design their own bespoke social value requirements, tailored to suit their needs and local community. Did you know that laptops are regarded as an educational necessity, and that more often than not, textbooks are now online? Yet up to 6000 secondary students in the South East don’t own one. A secondary principal said that This is IT was a “game changer for the students lucky enough to be a recipient of a laptop. Schools are trying to prepare their students for the future. This is extremely difficult when students do not have access to the tools they require.” Can your organisation donate laptops? Each laptop you donate to TIIS is ‘wiped’ and repurposed, then awarded as an IT Laptop Scholarship to students nominated by their schools. There are minimum essential and recommended specification requirements for this initiative. Head to https://lnkd.in/damAcfwx to learn more.

As I said in my other post, high schools are the new hunting ground for auto dealership service techs. It's a great idea. Not everyone wants or needs to go to college after high school This program helps connect dealerships with equipment to donate to schools that need it. #dealerships #servicetechs #highschools #retailauto
