Redde Northgate plc Fleet Director, Tim Bailey alongside directors of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) recently met with the Shadow Transport Minister, Bill Esterson. This was a valuable opportunity, alongside other industry experts to highlight the vital role our sector is playing in road Transport decarbonisation. On the agenda were discussion points spanning current market conditions for Leasing and Rental, the importance of reinforcing the strong foundations that are enabling the transition to zero-emission vehicles, and the necessity to provide more support to commercial vehicles. Tim Bailey said “Mr Esterson was very positive and grateful for the interaction and asked for more of these meetings on an ongoing basis, recognising how we as an industry can support and drive decarbonisation. Forging strong relationships with politicians of all parties is paramount, and enables us as subject matter experts to make the sector’s voice heard, and help to shape future decisions which impact our industry.”
